Docklands Chamber of Commerce Executive Officer Shane Wylie was able to compile data from over 3 million facebook followers and 100 million monthly website users (across 276 sites) to present a summary of what’s trending in 2018.

  • No content is better than bad content
  • Women are the drivers of social media
  • Social media has to be monitored daily
  • Social media requires an investment – you must promote your page and posts
  • Facebook (and therefore Instagram) has refocussed organic reach to community appeal
  • Boosted appeal has remained constant with high quality posts. Organic reach for businesses has fallen dramatically
  • Websites are tending towards minimal and visual
