On Sunday we held the Docklands Christmas Markets, and they were a resounding success! With over 45 amazing stalls and plenty of entertainment, New Quay Promenade was transformed. Arguably, the best part of the day was Shane dressed as Santa, putting a smile on the face of each child that passed him. However, considering the day as a whole was incredible, that maybe isn’t saying much.

With the stall-owners having set up by 12pm, including wares from Cars and Dogs, The Mrs & Co., and AMBER, it looked like about half of Docklands came down to New Quay to check things out! I know that plenty of people took the opportunity to finish off their Christmas shopping, and others just came to enjoy the (sporadically) lovely weather, the vibes, and of course, the entertainment.

There were nine people involved in entertainment throughout the day: Roya, otherwise known as Melbourne Street Dancer, Open Door Singers, who got everyone up with their wonderful Christmas carols, Jacob Fitzgerald and his acoustic guitar, INOXIA with her truly magical vocals, and, of course, Alex Rose, DJ Perri Lee, and Kat on Sax absolutely tearing it up at Cargo after 4pm.

The joy at the Docklands Christmas Markets was really infectious, and it was great to see so many people out and about (considering we’ve spent most of the year inside). We already can’t wait to do it again! Many thanks to the businesses and entertainers that made this day as jubilant as it was!
